Final week of the 2012 SCF Tournament results
Ladies and Gentlemen,
This year's 2012 SCF Tournament turned out to be one of the best especially when it came to the weather. Other then the windy day we had this past week, the weather couldn't have been better.
As we all know this was the week of our Tier I and Tier II teams to compete and compete they did. I have to say I thought the competition between Tiers was very close and the scores for all the games showed that.
In Tier II the semi final seeds were: Seed 1: SCF Falcons, Seed 2: SCF Scorpions, Seed 3: SCG Road Runners, and Seed 4: Arizona Traditions. In the finals were our two SCF teams, the Falcons and the Scorpions. The SCF Falcons managed by Mike Dimono won the 2012 SCF Tournament Trophy, Congratulation Mike and the Falcons team members.
In Tier I the semi finals seeds were: Seed 1: SCF Horner, Seed 2: Arizona Traditions, Seed 3: SCG Blasters, and Seed 4: Paul Tone. The Tier I finals were our SCF Horner team lead by Cliff Noble and Arizona Traditions lead by Bill Bruni. In a great final extra inning game, Arizona Tradition beat out SCF Horner by 2 runners, Congratulation to Arizona Tradition members and Bill Bruni.
We wish to thank all the SCFSC Members who volunteer to suppose the tournament in field prep, scorekeeping, and umpiring. We wish to thank all the volunteers who help with run chasing, ball chasers, Marge Marcotte and her staff of 50/50 raffle ticket volunteers and many more activities. We also want to especially thank Jersey Jim for the great food, and the ladies of the fine food area selling the goodies made daily, believe me they were all good.
Finally, a big thank you to our 2102 SCF Tournament Chairman David Dietz and his SCFSC members who made up the SCF 2012 Tournament Committee and thank you to all the fans at Sun City Festival and the other communities residents who came out to support their teams, thank you again.
1st week of the 2012 SCF Tournament Report
Ladies and Gentlemen,
As many of your may know the 2012 SCF Softball Tournament started on January 24, 2012 under great weather, the great weather continued all week.
This week were the teams in our Tier III Division coming from Sun City Festival, Desert Rose and Golddealers, a team from Vistancia, and a team from Pueblo El Mirage. After the first days of playing Pueblo El Mirage and Desert Rose were undefeated. Vistancia had 1 win, and the Golddealers had 4 losses. In Golddealers games, the players did the best they could and since they didn't win a game, the Golddealers never gave up and the team had a good time.
On Saturday, January 28, 2012, the seeds were set with the Golddealers being the the 4th seed, Pueblo El Mirage was the 1st seed, Desert Rose was the 2nd seed, and Vistancia was the 3rd seed. El Mirage played the Golddealers and Desert Rose played Vistancia. El Mirage and Desert Rose ended up in the finals and Pueblo El Mirage won the Tier III SCF Softball Tournament Trophy, congratuation to Pueblo El Mirage.
Next week I will update everyone on our 2nd week of SCF Softball Tournament with our Tier I and II teams playing on January 30th, 31st, February 1st, and 2nd and the finals for both Tiers will be on Saturday, February 4th.
Thank you to all for your participation and support and again congratulation to all the Tier III teams and the Champion - Pueblo El Mirage.
